Finger paintings at school were fun, weren’t they? The feeling of the paint, cool against your skin, against your fingers, pressing hard on paper till you saw the colour at the top your finger nail turn from cool-pink to white, blocking off all possible circulation. We all (well most of us) would have done this at sometime in our infant lives, smiling and giggling with our friends, experimenting, dipping the paint brush into the cup of water in the middle of the table to change colours only to realise that afterwards we were making the paint thinner, splotching spots, making the colour purple and having all your friends say WOW! You of course smiling in admiration, then, the big question, “How’d you do that?”. Having absolutely no idea yourself you just simply reply, “It’s a secret!” And then finally standing on a chair to hang up your work on the line running across the classroom with a peg; stepping off, standing back, and just giving yourself the nod.
